Whitehead Vizard are entering a team of eight runners who have committed themselves to raising over £1,000 for the charity in memory of their work colleague, Ann Herold, who lost her battle with cancer last year.
The race will be held on Sunday 1st July 2007 at Hudson’s Field. The event starts at 11am and consists of a five kilometre course around Hudson’s Field and surrounding areas. The local organisers are hoping that 4,000 woman will run, jog or walk the course, to help raise money for this vital charity.

Solicitor Caroline Parsons, said “We are delighted to be taking part in Race For Life this year. It is our way of remembering Ann and our family and friends who have been affected by cancer. We hope to raise over £1,000 and are currently in training for the event. Several of us have not run in a fund raising race before and will be putting extra hours of training in the next few weeks.”
Race for Life started in 1994 and has grown to become the UK’s biggest women only fundraising event. All of the money raised by the event goes towards the work of Cancer Research UK – the world’s leading organization dedicated to cancer research.
So far 2,000,000 women of all ages have run walked or jogged and have raised over £140 million in sponsorship for the charity. This year the charity aims to raise £60 million by bringing 800,000 women together during the course of the campaign.
