The day started with bright sunshine on Saturday morning, and ended warm and slightly overcast.
Large crowds flocked to the event to see Zara Phillips and William Fox-Pitt take part.
Event Organiser Anthony Ffooks breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday evening as the weather held off to enable a first full day of eventing at the Wiltshire venue.
Major Section winners at the horse trials today included:
Vicky Brake, riding Showtime IV, from Salisbury, who won the Novice A Section on Saturday morning;
Dan Jocelyn, riding Aristocat, from Newbury, who won the Novice B Section on Saturday morning;
Jamie-Lee Day, riding Sarnau Dragon, from Winscombe, who won the Novice C Section on Saturday morning;
Ed Eltham, riding The Secret Keeper, from Devizes, who won the Open Novice D Section on Saturday morning;
Ellie Still, riding Majestic Mind, from Swindon, who won the Junior Regional Novice Section on Saturday afternoon;
Oliver Townend, riding ODT Secret Spy, from Market Harborough, who won the Intermediate F Section on Saturday afternoon;
Anthony Ffooks, Event Organiser, said: "We are very pleased with the weather so far after last year was rained off.
The Whitehead Vizard Solicitors Wilton Horse Trials combined the three disciplines of Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country.
Great Britain is one of the World's leading eventing nations. We are looking forward to another great day on Sunday, provided the weather continues to hold."
